On September 1, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a regular meeting of the Council of heads of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Tianjin.

Digital Economy and Innovation: A New Stage of Uzbekistan–China Cooperation

Since gaining independence, and particularly over the past eight years, Uzbekistan has paid special attention to building equal partnerships with all countries of the world, adopting modern trends, and integrating them into various areas of public life. These efforts have contributed to the development of economic sectors and to improving the welfare of the population.

Technology Integration and Joint Research: Priority Areas of Uzbekistan–China Cooperation

At present, one of the key priorities in cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is the development of collaboration in technology integration, joint research, and applied innovations.

The contemporary stage of international relations is marked by the rapid growth of the importance of information and communication technologies, which have become not only a driving force of progress but also a source of new challenges and threats. In this regard, ensuring international information security has assumed particular urgency, requiring the coordination of efforts at both regional and global levels.

Economic Cooperation of SCO Countries

The territory of SCO member states collectively accounts for about 27% of the world’s landmass and over 60% of Eurasia. The combined population of SCO countries exceeds 42.8% of the global population, amounting to 3.4 billion out of 8 billion people worldwide. The SCO countries generate 23.6% of global nominal GDP and 33.8% of global GDP based on purchasing power parity (PPP). In particular, China and India rank 2nd and 7th in the world by nominal GDP ($18.75 trillion and $3.91 trillion, respectively) and 1st and 3rd by GDP at PPP ($38.15 trillion and $16.19 trillion, respectively).

Uzbekistan’s contribution to strengthening stability and cooperation in the SCO

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), approaching its 25th anniversary, is entering a new stage of evolution, striving to adapt to the changing geopolitical environment.
